In Remembrance of Agnes McCoyEven before I knew Agnes personally I always thought she seemed like a special spit fire character! I could see that Agnes meant what she said and said what she meant and that immediately attracted me to her. I wanted to get to know her. She always had that BEAUTIFUL flowing lion's mane hair, (I even told her that and that I was envious), smiles, sense of humor and a special twinkle in her eye that made me wonder, what is she going to do now???? Wish I could go with her! I eventually got to know Agnes just from dealing with her at the KNC and doing her hair and found out personally just what a; smiling, joking, smart, wise, sensitive, gracious, caring, strong, intuitive, respectful, confidant, never malicious and gentle soul she was. I never felt that I had to use a lot of words to communicate with Agnes either. She just simply seemed to always understand everything completely. She was a cherished treasure of a friend. I am proud to have known her the little bit that I did. She always made me feel special too. She was always in tune with what was going on and understood what I was talking about. She always had something poignant to offer in way of a solution or dealing with an issue or just to confirm she fully comprehended the situation. She was also pretty gentle when she was being straight with you and I appreciated that grace and imagine that was a great skill to have in her work or dealings. I wasn't close to the work she did but I think it was a perfect fit for her and I know it was close to her heart simply by the passionate way she talked about it and that she believed it was important work for everyone. I wish I could have seen her in action as I think she would have been a force to contend with. I know I am only touching the tip of the iceberg concerning Agnes as I know she also had great depth but she was very special to me in the short time I knew her and I am thankful for that. Our loss is certainly heavens gain. My heart, prayers and respect go to her family at this time of loss, sharing and caring, xo. I certainly wish I could have been to the service. Special thanks and appreciation to Audrey Francis who shared the on going details shortly before Agnes passed away. I am thankful I was included. Thank you Audrey! XOXOKathy Horvath

Agnes was a care giver, a person who opened her home to many children and to her family. She has left this earth a wealthy woman. As worth is judged by how many people you have helped in your life time and she helped many, many people. She gave back to the community with her volunteer time, as a Councillor of the Band, through many hours she spent at meetings making good decisions for the St. Mary's Band, other committees she was a member of and as a respected Elder. Her endless, selfless hours of volunteer work will well be remembered. She was a giving person, and these people find a higher place higher in heaven. May the Ancestors dance you to the Creator. You will be remembered and missed by all. Most of all I will remember your wonderful traditional voice.

It was very nice to have known Agnes. She was a very happy caring and special person. She will be missed deeply but I am sure she is rejoicing and being reunited with those that have gone on before, especially her late husband.Agnes was a kind person with a warm heart and big smile. I was glad I had one good visit back in September, although it was short. May gods work be done with all the work that must be taken care of.
