Obituary of Elna Sparks

1914 - 2009

It is with great sorrow that the family of Elna Beatrice Sparks announce her passing at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital on June 11, 2009 at 94 years of age with her family at her side.

Born November 14, 1914, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Elna enjoyed cooking, canning and knitting. She also liked watching the Blue Jays play baseball on tv and family gatherings.

Left to mourn her passing are: Ronald and Isabelle Sparks; Janet and Gordon Atwood; John and Fern Sparks; Susan and Marion Skychuck; son-in-law Peter Guzak and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Elna was predeceased by her husband John Sparks; daughter Patricia Guzak; granddaughter Penny Edwards and Jennifer Sparks.

Visitation for Elna will take place at McPherson Funeral Home in Cranbrook on Monday, June 15, 2009 from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm.

Her funeral service will be held at Fellowship Baptist Church in Cranbrook on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at 11:00 am.

Her Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in honour of Elna may do so to their charity of choice.
