The family of Jenny Bowman sadly announces her death following a brave battle with a long illness.
Jenny was born in Olympia, Washington, USA. She was a Cranbrook resident since 1969. Jenny's life was characterized by her strong Christian faith which was portrayed by her love for the Lord in her work in the church and in the community. She formed many deep friendships over the years. She worked with special needs adults and youth. She was a past Chairman of the Board for Kootenay Christian Academy. She and her family were delighted to care for their foster child Dustin for more than 6 years.
Jenny will be greatly missed by her loving husband Dave; sons Jaymes and Kyle; her mother and step-father Joan and Al Manjak; her brothers: Mark (Kathryn) of Calgary, Derek (Paula) of Perth, Australia, David (Julie) of Winnipeg and by her sister Laura (Justin) of Prince George; also by her many nephews and nieces, each of whom was very special to her, and by extended family in Washington State, in England and in Ontario.
Jenny was predeceased by her father Donn Zimmerman.
The family wishes to express deep gratitude to those who expressed their love and care for Jenny's well-being during her illness - to the doctors and nursing staff at the Oncology Department at East Kootenay Regional Hospital and to all the staff of Joseph Creek Care Village.
A memorial service for Jenny will be held at the Fellowship Baptist Church in Cranbrook on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 11:00 am.
