Lorna Willey – Oct 28, 1940 – August 9, 2022

Lorna Willey passed away in the Cranbrook Regional Hospital on August 9, 2022, with her beloved husband Bob by her side and her children never far from her bedside.
Lorna was a dedicated and loving mother to her two children and an inspiration to everyone who knew her.   Her smile lit up a room and her kindness was felt by her friends, family and all who spent quality time with her.
Lorna earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Winnipeg moving to Flin Flon for her first teaching job where she had Bobby Clarke as a pupil, and met the love of her life.
Her journey towards everlasting love and family began with a phone call to her native home of Winnipeg by her now husband Bob from New Zealand on Christmas day in 1962 with a proposal of marriage.  Her adventurous spirit and love drove her to board a plane and cross the ocean.   They spent two years exploring NZ and Australia before moving back to Canada and creating a home in Kimberley.
The travel bug stuck and they continued to explore the world over the years, developing a fondness for cruising.  Lorna would have lived on a ship if she had the chance. After spending the winters in Southern California for 7 years after retirement she and Bob took every opportunity to explore this great world. Her other passions included golf and could always be found on the course with her cherished friends, never missing a ladies night.  She was a master quilter and spent endless hours in her woman’s cave perfecting her craft. She created so many exquisite works of art that took a labor of love, complete and utter devotion.  Her quilts are beyond magnificent and the legacy of her work will be forever cherished.
Lorna was taken from us too soon and her absence will be greatly missed.
Lorna is survived by her husband Bob, son David (Janell), daughter Lisa and grand-daughter Ava.
A celebration of life will be planned at a future time.
