Obituary of Doris Emily Rose Lovett

Doris was born to Henry and Emily Lovett during World War II on August 4, 1943, in London, England.

 

Starting a new life in 1967, Doris, her sister Rosemaire, and their mother Emily immigrated to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada joining her brother Ron, and his family.

 

Doris loved to sew and created everything from Halloween costumes to wedding dresses in her 50-plus years as a seamstress. She spent a quiet retirement relaxing, reading, and spending time with her pets and family. Doris also enjoyed staying in regular contact with numerous family members still in England.

 

In 2020, Doris and her beloved cat Jack, joined her daughter Laura, son-in-law Vince and their fur-children on their move to beautiful Fairmont, BC.

 

For the last year of her life, Doris, bravely endured a great many medical issues. She spent the last 6 months of her life being lovingly cared for by the staff at Ivy House LTC. She made an impact on people’s lives wherever she went, and Ivy House was no exception where she made several friends.

 

Doris went Home on November 15, 2022, to be with her father Henry, mother Emily, brother Ron, sister-in-law Margareth, as well as numerous pets.

 

She will be remembered with love by her daughter Laura (Vince), sister Rosemarie, nephews Peter (Tammy), and Gary (Laurie), niece Sonja (Mark), her kitty cat Jack, grandpuppy Meko, grandkitty Irwin, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.  

 

Doris’ family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Ivy House LTC and to Dr. Sveen for their compassion and care.
