To Dana's Sisters Shannon and Robyn, Mom Pat, Brother-In-Law Walter, and Niece Kaitlyn
When I had learned that Dana had passed away, it was devastating and heartbreaking to realize that she is gone so soon.
Dana was such a positive influence in my life. I had always looked forward to hearing the Minions Banana song ringtone on my cell phone, because that meant that Dana Banana was calling!!
We would text, or call each other, almost daily, just to see how each other were doing. That's just how Dana was. She was authentic, and a genuinely good person, and remembered details like birthdays, and anniversaries, because she had a heart of gold, and would do anything for the people that she card about, and loved. It was rare to have a day go by without each of us saying Good Morning, Goodnight, or just a "Later, Gator" during the day.
And for that, I am forever grateful. And I am grateful that I had gotten to meet each of you as well, as I got to learn how much Dana loved each of you, her family, and of course, this includes Mr. Oakley, and Yoda, too!!
True friends, like diamonds, are precious, and rare.
I still marvel and appreciate that we had met, had the good times that we did, though sharing some sad times, too. I remember writing a poem to Dana, and referred to her as "KICKASS".
Kind. Inspiring. Caring. Kindred (Spirit). Amazing. Smart. Sweet.
I always looked forward to seeing Dana, too, as she would have some Horror movies, or shows and movies to watch, funny videos to share, or some doggy photos on her phone. I cannot count how many photos she had but she had LOTS. And LOTS!! and LOTS MORE!!!!
And Dana knew how much of an Edmonton Oilers fan I am, so, naturally, Dana would cheer on the Calgary Flames.
Was I upset about that? Of course not.
Dana wasn't mean-spirited in the slightest manner, and it was more of a running gag than anything. Even if Dana was sporting her mischievous grin!!
I considered Dana my best friend, and soulmate.
I don't know what I would have done without you, Dana.
Say Hi to Toby and Cody for me in Heaven, and I know that you will touch as many lives as you begin your Eternal Journey, as you did during your life here.
I love you, Dana Banana, and I miss you.
