Obituary of Emily Millie Llywarch

It is with heavy hearts we share the passing of Emily Llywarch on the morning of December 30, 2024. She was born on June 26, 1928. 

Emily was predeceased by her parents, Polly and Fred, brothers Steve, Mike, Peter, and Paul, and a sister Rosie, in infancy.

She is survived by her sisters Kay (Morris) Zayac and Ann Irvine, as well as sisters-in-law Eileen Yaworski and Joan Yaworski. Also survived by her four children Marlene (Peter), George (Connie), Damon (Terri) and Robert (Christine); Eight grandchildren Peter (Deborah), Jason (Chrissy), Lisa (Mark), Clayton (Lia), Cara, Alana, Ryan (Jessica), Cody, and Emilia; Fourteen great-grandchildren Austin, Kristen, Riley, Makayla, Ireland, AJ, Nick, Sofie, Finn, Jaida, Porter, Ryder, Quinn, and Harper, and by her great-great grandchild Luke. Emily is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Although born and raised in the Krydor, SK area, Emily left the family farm and embarked on an adventurous and full life that took her throughout western Canada. Much of her life was spent raising her children in the hustle and bustle of Vancouver, BC, where she spent the better part of four decades working as a waitress for the iconic Aristocratic Restaurant. She would eventually settle in Penticton, BC, during her retirement years alongside her then husband Dave Llywarch until his passing at 102 years.

Though content to stay close to home, and immediate family, Emily enjoyed nothing more than to return to her roots and the family she cherished so deeply in the Saskatoon and North Battleford areas. It was this closeness to family that Sustained Emily’s energy until her passing at the amazing age of 96.

The Funeral Mass will take place at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Kimberley, BC on Wednesday, January 15^th, at 11:00 AM.
