Obituary of Eleanor Margaret Sheffield (Lillejord)

Eleanor passed away peacefully in the Joseph Creek Care Village at the age of 82 after a short battle with cancer.  She was born in Trail, B.C. and grew up in Fruitvale B.C.  She was the daughter of Magnus and Ivy, and the sister of Evelyn, Endre (Chris), and Eunice.

Eleanor was the heart of the family and had an incredible sense of fun and an infectious laugh; she could brighten anyone’s day instantly with her sense of humour. Many happy times were had out at lake Koocanusa at her camp with her family.  She was sharp with numbers and investments, and she had incredible people skills that led her to find employment as a nurse, dental assistant, and caregiver of two men with special needs in her home. 

Eleanor was a Mom and a Grandmother first, and she highly valued time with her family.  She will be sadly missed by her husband Ronald Sheffield, as well as Julie (Derek) Ackerman, Jarret Ross (Kathy MacLeod), Tara-Lynn (Dereck) Crozier, Krista (Clayton) Skinner, and Keith Sheffield.

Eleanor was adored by her grandchildren Aliyah, Ken, Ashley-Ann, Jocelyn, Katrina, Riley (Kristie), Kassidy (Gage), Kaitlyn, and Nathan, as well as her great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and extended family. She will be missed by all who loved her.  There will be an interment of her ashes this summer in Vernon B.C. (date TBA) where she will be joining her son Steven in residing in the beautiful Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
