Obituary of Brenda Lee Baiko (Warren)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brenda Lee Baiko (Warren), who peacefully passed away surrounded by family on the morning of February 10, 2025.

Brenda is survived by her four children: Tom (Tracey), Brian, Jody (Brian), and Colin (Terri), as well as her eight grandchildren: Jeffrey, Nichole, Christopher, Stephanie, Tessa, Dylan, Morgan, and Sammy. She also leaves behind her precious great-grandchildren: Caliden, Noah, Gabriel, Raelynn, Bryson, Jameson, and Aubree.

Brenda was predeceased by her husband, Don, who passed away on May 8, 2023.

Born in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Brenda was an only child. She spent much of her childhood at the home of her best friend Gale, who had a family of 6 siblings. Brenda was happiest when surrounded by people and activity, and she had a gift for making others laugh. One of her fondest memories from her childhood was spending time with her rough-around-the-edges grandfather, who would say, “Get in, big girl, we gotta tour this farm and make sure everyone’s doing what they’re supposed to be doing.”

As an energetic mother of four—three of whom were only a year apart—Brenda was always on the go, ensuring there was never a dull moment. The family moved several times around British Columbia due to her husband’s work, leaving behind a trail of happy memories in small towns, including Squamish, Clowhom Falls, Bridge River, Fernie, Sooke, and Mill Bay.

A lighthearted Celebration of Brenda’s life will be held on Monday February 24th, 2025 at 11am at McPherson Funeral Home in Cranbrook. Please join us to hear and share stories of this incredible woman who brought so much joy to the lives of those around her.
