Obituary of Linda Wake
Please share a memory of Linda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sadness that the family of Linda Wake announces her passing on February 21, 2025, at the age of 75.
Born in Newcastle upon Tyne, Linda will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and strength. She dedicated her life to creating a loving and nurturing home for her family.
In 1968, Linda married her husband, Bill, and shortly after, they immigrated from England, arriving in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, with just two suitcases. As Bill’s career advanced in the mining industry, the family lived in Grande Cache and Pigeon Lake before settling in Cranbrook, which they have called home for the past 44 years.
Linda loved bringing family and friends together through food. You never left her house hungry, and at lunchtime, you would find her feeding her children’s classmates—years later, her grandchildren carried on the same tradition.
Linda will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 56 years, Bill; her children, Richard (Marnie), Martin (Kim), Angela (Mark), and Samantha (Kelly); and her grandchildren, Marshall (Brittany), Mackenzie, Micheal (Morgan), Ethan, Annaliese, Charlie, Lilaina, Charlize, Jacob; great grand daughter Azzurra and her best friend of 71 years Jennifer.
She was predeceased by her parents, Norman and Phyllis; and her sister Thelma.
The Wake family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and support staff at East Kootenay Regional Hospital for their exceptional and compassionate care of Linda.
At Linda’s request, there will be no funeral service. A private family gathering will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the East Kootenay Foundation for Health.
