Obituary of Danny Earl Kohorst

Danny Earl Kohorst, 77, passed away in Cranbrook, BC on April 15, 2025. Danny was a true adventurer, joining the Canadian Navy as a young man, he saw much of the world. He returned to his home in the Kootenays where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping whenever he could. Danny was a talented craftsman, he built his own cedar canoe, and made and sold many knives, pens, and crib pegs. While he had many professions over the years, including offering guided hunting tours of his trapline, he enjoyed a successful career as a millwright.

Predeceased in death by his father Charlie, his mother Evelyn, and his brother Kevin.

He is survived by his stepmother Jean, siblings Jerry, George, Christine, and Clifford, his children Eric, Heidi, Danielle and Eileen, and their families, and many beloved nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held for Danny later in the summer, the details of which to follow, where his ashes will be returned to this beautiful land that he so loved.
