Obituary of Patrick Hardy

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Patrick James Stewart Hardy, son of Rae and the late Rick Hardy. Pat, who was affectionately known as Rickie or Rick to his family, was the oldest of the five Hardy children, Sean (Sandy), Micheil (Roslynd), Alison (Craig), and Jeremy (Kristen).  Pat loved his family deeply and always had a story for those who were close to him.  Pat thought the world of his nieces and nephews, Steven, Sheldon, Samantha, Madeline, Amelia, Eleanor and Hilde, and they thought the world of him.  He was a great champion for them and spent many hours painting, playing chess, and building lego with them.  Pat loved judo, skiing, rugby, and watching the Winter Olympics.  Pat found joy in art, music, and reading despite the struggles he experienced in life.  He was an accomplished heavy machine operator and he excelled on hi-rail plowing and excavating machines. 

He was predeceased by his Dad, Rick, and his beloved Grandparents, Stewart and Pearl Duff. 

Pat passed away on April 16, 2025 after a battle with cancer. He will be laid to rest with his Dad in the Hardy Cemetery in Kelowna.
