Please share a memory of Paul to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Paul Chartier Paul Chartier of Invermere, BC passed away quietly in his sleep at home on January 4, 2017. He is predeceased by his wife of 52 years Lillian M Chartier (2012), and his daughter Deena L McLeod (1996). His life will be celebrated by those who survived him, his daughter Kelly Chartier, four grandchildren Ryan, Kimberly, Dustin, and Nichole, along with their spouses five great grandchildren, and extended family in the valley. After serving his country for five years and an honorable discharge, he met and married the love of his life, my mother Lillian. Together they created a loving home for my sister and I, their grandchildren and great grandchildren. They moved to the valley in 1979, bought a small piece of land up on the side of the mountain and my father with the help of my mother built their house. They had 33 wonderful years together on the mountain creating many memories to live on thru their family. My father possessed much knowledge and wisdom about a great many things which he shared with his daughters thru stories of his life experiences and a gentle hand at teaching. The life of the party, he was full of character and always entertaining. Gifted with a large personality everyone always knew when my father was in the room there would be laughter. Words I have heard used to describe my father over the past days; Strong, Confident, Direct, Generous, Proud, Honest, Pleasant, Funny, Admired. I would like to extend a very special thank you to my cousins Danny and Glen Wall for all their love and support during this time. I would also like to thank my dad's neighbors Bob and Sherry for everything they have done for both my parents over the years. Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on the snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the mornings hush, I am the swift uplifting rush. Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there, I did not die. Arrangements entrusted to McPherson Funeral Service. Condolences for the family can be offered at: www.mcphersonfh.com
