It is true he was and is an outstanding character and kept in top shape always years back when I met him and recall seeing him working in his huge garden. We first met your Dad before we moved to Kimberley & it was as though we had always known him. We'll never forget that first meal we had with him & the amount of food that he could enjoy-0h my!! Gyulla had the memory of an Elephant & could enthral you for hours with his wonderful stories of the past and his views of the world. I will think of him often as my flowers burst into bloom as so many originated in his beautiful yard. We've had the pleasure of calling him 'friend' since first meeting him & of numerous phone calls over the years just asking how the ~ are you & what are the Thompson's up to? Gyulla was one of those unforgettable individuals who once you meet you will never forget. He touched many, many lives & we are blessed to be among them. He will live on in your hearts & memories forever. Our thoughts & prayers are with you both at this time. Terry & Barb Thompson

A bright, good humored soul who knew how to make people laugh. As a youth, I was bullied heavily in school. Many times he'd catch me walking home with my nose to the pavement. Thanks for finding ways to incite the laughter that encouraged me to hold my head high!

We only met Gyulla once but he was memorable with such a big presence and an awesome sense of humor. A very formidable character, I expect he left this world only when he was good and ready. Sandy's obit about his dad is very heartfelt and so thoughtful and descriptive, well said.. Our sincerest condolences to you. We'll call you this weekend. LOVE Jean and Stephen
