Obituary of LeRoy Lyle Holmgren

1954 - 2012

It is with deep sorrow that the family of LeRoy Holmgren announce his passing on Thursday, April 5, 2012 after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family.

LeRoy was born on April 7, 1954 in Creston, British Columbia. He leaves to mourn his passing his cherished daughters Cassandra and Chelsea, his sisters Lillian (Jack Bissett), and Ellie, his brother Harvey and numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. LeRoy loved his family dearly and his daughters were the joy in his life. He was predeceased by his parents John and Ellen Holmgren, sisters Shirley and Dorthey.

LeRoy was known as loving, generous, kind, comical and a very hard worker. He was a lifelong fan of the Montreal Canadians, played softball, broomball and golf. Fishing was also a favourite pastime.

At LeRoy's request, there will be no funeral service. He will be Interred in the Creston Cemetery at a later date. Those wishing to make a memorial donation in honour of LeRoy may do so to the: Cranbrook Food Bank Society, 104 - 8th Avenue South, Cranbrook, British Columbia, V1C 2K5.
