Arthur Roy Reno Krane 1937 - 2017 With great sadness we let you know that our dear Arthur passed away at home on Thursday, April 13, 2017 with Heather by his side. He has been set free of his burdens on earth and is at home with the Lord. Art was born on March 10, 1937 at the Reno Mine near Salmo, BC. He grew up in Balfour, BC. After high school he worked briefly for CP Rail in Nelson and the fertilizer plant in Kimberley. He then joined the BC Forest Service and worked out of Nelson, BC. Art married Heather (nee McLeod) in Nelson in 1960. In 1964 the family moved to Canal Flats, on to Golden in 1970, and finally settling in Kimberley in 1973 where Art worked out of the Cranbrook Forest Service office. He retired after 35 years of service with the BC Forest Service and continued working in the forest industry for another 10 years. Art loved the Lord. He studied His word. He loved us. He made us laugh. He was a hewer of wood and a digger of dirt. He was an avid hunter of cougars, deer, elk, moose, etc. He was a fisherman. He was a keen knife sharpener. He recited Robert Service poems. He was a collector of arrowheads and other native artifacts. He was a hiker and made many a cedar bough bed. He was the supreme leader in the huckleberry picking pound totals. Art is survived by his wife Heather, sons Neil (Lynette) and family, Murray, Roy (Paula) and family, grandchildren, great grandchildren, one great great grandson, his brother Ted (Donna) and family, sisters Ruth (Ron) Greenough and family, Irene (Allan) Grant and family, Sylvia Morrow, Laura (Brian) Hodgins and family, sister-in-law MJ MacLeod and family, brother-in-law Allan MacLeod and family, and the family of his late brother-in-law John MacLeod.
