1925 - 2010
Eileen Dube, long-time resident of Marysville, British Columbia, and for the past five years, Joseph Creek Care Village in Cranbrook, British Columbia, passed away peacefully with family at her side on Monday, August 2, 2010 at 85 years of age.
Eileen was born in Pleasantdale, Saskatchewan on March 12, 1925. She began nursing in Saskatoon and met her husband Roland there at the hospital. They were married in 1947 and eventually moved to British Columbia in 1955. They enjoyed many summers at Rosen Lake where Eileen could fish to her hearts content and many winters in Yuma, Arizona where they had many friends and good times. Eileen worked for many years at the Kimberley Hospital and then the clinic. She thoroughly enjoyed her job, had many many good friends and almost hated to retire, but Yuma was waiting. Eileen lost her loving Roland in November 1999 after 52 years of marriage.
Eileen is survived by two wonderful sisters: Rita Stonehouse of Melfort, Saskatchewan and Dorothy McKillican of White Rock, British Columbia; sister-in-law: Therese (Bob) Beauchesne of Prince Albert, Saskachewan; three children: son Ray (Janet) Dube of Cranbrook British Columbia; daughter Faye (Ken) Grantham of Vancouver, British Columbia; and son Bill (Mary-Jane) Dube of Penticton, British Columbia; five grandchildren: Ray (Carla), Kim (Jeff), Lindsay (Kris), Michael (Kristina) and Kara (Donny); three great grandchildren: Tianna, Braycen and Jaylyn.
