Dear sweet Lorraine,
We have so many memories of you, and in each one we see your beautiful warm and loving smile, and hear your wonderful rich laughter.
We remember your helping to decorate the bus for our wedding. We remember your swimming in my parents' pool. We remember your coming to Regina in your hot little Miata and the thrill it gave to our kids. We remember your taking us to Marble Canyon on a visit west and on another hike to a waterfall near your home in Invermere where bears were a possibility! We remember when you came home from Italy and introduced us to tiramisu. We remember visiting your first house in the Radium area and our realization that you had become an independent grown-up woman. We remember the rich discussions of all things educational. We remember your beautiful happy wedding and our lovely visits to your and Peter's house, and the interesting conversations and warm hospitality and delicious meals....and bear stories! You will always be Goldilocks to Allan. We remember your delight in your students--in having them sing Rainbow Connection and other perfect songs, and in the books and art projects you shared with them, and in the growth they experienced under your tender care because you saw the best in them and helped them to see it, too.
You have made the lives of everyone you have ever met better, just by knowing you. You were a beautiful, grace-filled woman, and it was an honour to know you, and even more to call you "family". Thank you for the example of love and grace that you lived. (Allan and Laurie)
