Obituary of Francesco Carollo

Francesco Carollo "Frank" 1933 - 2017 It is with deep sorrow that the family of Frank Carollo announces his passing on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at his home in Cranbrook, BC at 84 years of age. Frank was born on May 14, 1933 in Grimaldi, Cosenza, Italy. He was a strong family man who enjoyed raising various birds, rabbits, guinea pigs and other small animals. He also enjoyed gardening and tending to his multiple fruit trees. Frank had a passion for making red wine from crushed grapes annually. Frank immigrated to Canada from Italy in 1952 at the age of 19, working hard his entire life. He resided in various locals in Alberta and BC over the years, living in Cranbrook for the past 28 years. Frank is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Giulia, they would have been married 59 years on August 23, 2017; his daughter Maria (Larry) Smith; his son Pietro; his grandchildren Michael Smith and Jacalyn Smith, his sister Rosaria (Louis) Bossio and his brother Ugo; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Frank was predeceased by his parents Pietro and Angelina Carollo and his step-father Giuseppe Mantello. Prayers for Frank will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Cranbrook on Monday, August 28, 2017 at 7:00 pm. His funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 10:30 am. Frank will be entombed in the Westlawn Cemetery Mausoleum following the service.
