Raymond Richard Wills
October 17, 1939 - August 21, 2017
It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Raymond Richard Wills on Monday, August 21, 2017, after a short illness.
Ray was born in Kimberley on October 17, 1939 and was the son of Celia Horie and the stepson of Jack Horie. He is survived by his wife Alene "Tiny" Wills of Creston, his son Scott Wills (Joanne) of Cranbrook, granddaughter Ash Kelly of Vancouver, grandson Jake Wills (Kaylee) of Cranbrook, Darby Wills of Port Alberni, and daughter Stacey Williams (Andrew) of Nanaimo. He is also survived by his sisters, Lois Carver of Cranbrook, Shirley Craig (Ken) of Calgary, Cathie Horie of Nanaimo, and brothers Pat Horie (Dee) of Courtenay and Malcom Horie (Alice) of Kamloops and many nieces and nephews and their children.
He was predeceased by his parents Jack and Celia Horie, his brother Ron Wills of Cranbrook, Robert Wills "Bob" sister Margie O'Genskie and John O'Genskie of Trail and brother-in-law Ken Carver of Cranbrook.
Raymond grew up in Cranbrook and joined the Navy in 1957. He served for 5 years and then moved back to Cranbrook. When he was a milk man he met Tiny, they were married and soon had twins. Ray was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. Ray worked at CP Rail for many years as a Conductor. When he retired 12 years ago, they moved to Creston. He has since spent his time running the roads with his best friend Shannon Hood and copilot Shiloh, hunting for bargains to fill his food shelves in his Wilmart and getting into general mischief.
We will all miss is hilarious outlook on life as well as his entertaining Facebook posts.
A celebration of Ray's life will be held at McPherson Funeral Home in Cranbrook (2200 - 2nd Street South) on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 11:00 am. Ray will be interred in Westlawn Cemetery in Cranbrook.
