Obituary of Connie Watson

Connie Watson September 16, 1942 - November 7, 2017 It is with overwhelming sadness that we announce the passing of Connie Watson in Invermere, BC on Tuesday, November 7th. Connie passed away peacefully with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer. She leaves behind her best friend and forever devoted husband Skip, her daughter Marcie (Shawn), son Rob (Jennifer) and son Hal (Wendy), her grandchildren Jake, Ali, Mitchell, Kianna, Carter, Keira, Eve and Isla, and her sisters Judy (Terry) and Mary Lou (Brian). Connie's love of life, passion and energy touched so many people. From teaching in Saskatchewan, to Germany and back, from curling to book clubs, to Grandmothers for Grandmothers, golfing, hiking and more, Connie poured enthusiasm, laughter and a bright light into every moment of every day. Although a big hole is left in many hearts, Connie's spirit will live on in the cherished memories held by her many friends and loving family. Throughout her battle with cancer she was an inspiration to everyone around her with her strength, perseverance and amazing ability to be grateful for the moments of day to day life. The family would like to give special thanks for the kind and caring support of doctors, nurses and staff of the Invermere & District Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the BC Cancer Agency or the Sandra Schmirler Foundation. The Celebration of Life for Connie will be held on Sunday, November 12th from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Copper Point Resort in Invermere. Arrangements entrusted to McPherson Funeral Service.
