Angus Gordon Cameron "Gordon" 1924 - 2017 In loving memory of our dad, grandfather and great grandfather, Gordon Cameron, who passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Columbia House in Invermere, BC at 93 years of age. Gordon was born to Herb and Maggie Cameron in Coronation, Alberta on April 9, 1924. He started working in Coronation as a ranch/farm hand at a young age. He moved to Rossland, BC in 1946 to start his career as a painter with his brothers. Gordon married Lois Low In 1947 and they had their only son Ken in 1949. The family moved to Riondel, BC in 1952 where Gordon worked for Cominco as a painter. In 1962 they moved to Creston where they owned and operated the Valley View Cabins. He also worked at the local building supply store. Gordon had always wanted to own a grocery store so they purchased Plourd's Store later known as "Gordie's Store". He sold the store and retired in 1975 but continued to work as a carpenter for many years. In his retirement Gordon enjoyed travelling in his motorhome, fishing and going to the casinos with his good friends. Gordon moved to Invermere in 2010 to be closer to his family. He kept busy with small woodworking projects, many paint by number kits, playing yahtzee and making puzzles. Gordon became a favourite client of the many loving and caring Home Care staff who looked after him. He looked forward to their visits every day. Gordon is survived by his son Ken (Carol); grandchildren Aaron (Wendy), Shauna, and Ben (Shilo); great grandchildren Cooper, Cody, Mikayla, Milica, Finn and Julien; his brother Bill; brother-in-law Don; sisters-in-law Gertrude, Jean and Shirley and many nieces, nephews and good friends. Gordon was predeceased by his loving wife, Lois; his parents, Herb and Maggie; his brothers Don, Bruce, Hugh, Clarence, Doug and Stan and his sister Gladys. Gordon chose cremation. He will be laid to rest in Creston with his wife at a private family service. Arrangements entrusted to McPherson Funeral Service. Condolences for the family can be offered at: www.mcphersonfh.com
