We were fortunate to have Debby as our guest during her visits to Calgary. She was very good to the staff and many knew her by name. We are truly sorry to hear of her passing. Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Debby.

In June, Debby and I attended a meeting together. This was the first time I had seen her in many years having moved away in 1999. It was great to see her again, little did I know I would to cherish the welcome hug she gave me forever. Thoughts and prayers to the Flaata's and Augustines.

What a truly beautiful lady. I had a the privilege of being your instructor at the Justice Institute when you first became a deputy sheriff and the much like you, I learned more from recruits than I think I taught them. You taught me much. We went on to work together in neighbouring offices and on occasion, in the same locations. Your integrity and your work ethic as a sister law enforcement officer made me proud to be associated to you. I will forever cherish the quiet moments when we shared some personal stories and your comforting words of wisdom as an experienced mother when I entered that chapter of my life. Rest in peace.

Heartfelt condolences to Carl and Debby's family.
I first met Debby when I went to work at the courthouse. She was always so friendly, helpful, and sincere. We had many wonderful chats and shared hearty laughs, as we traveled back and forth to circuit courts. We also worked together at FLNRO and of course everyone appreciated and loved her from the start.
She spoke often of her family and they filled her life with joy. I am so grateful that Debby touched my life and know she is watching over us. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and those closest to her.
Hugs to all. Karen Kendal

Thinking of the Augustine and Flaata families at this time. Whenever I saw Debby she always had a special smile on a face and that infectious laugh. She will be missed by many. She will be laughing and dancing in Heaven now. God bless you all. Wendy Hutchinson

I first met Debby through her twin sister Tammy, but was lucky enough to cross paths with her many times through her work and on the occasional hiking trail. Debby had a way of making the day seem brighter even after a short visit. I will miss her stories, her smile, her laugh and her warmth. She was a true gift to all who had the chance to know her.
May God keep her close and comfort those who have been left behind after far too short a time.......
I am sorry for your loss.

I was truly blessed to know and work with Debby, and have her be not only a co-worker, but a friend.
While training her - she taught me far more than I could ever teach her. No matter what was going on with her, in life or at work, she always had a bright smile and a kind word, and she was a welcome breath of fresh air to our work unit. Her sense of humour was a great addition to our workplace, and it was a pleasure to watch her grow in the short time she was with us.
As I expected, another group was going to nab her away from us, and although I was truly sorry to see her leave, I knew she had found her true calling in her new job with the Compliance and Enforcement Unit. It was always a treat when she came into our office, because it was obvious how much she loved her new job, the challenges, and the opportunity to spend so much of her work day in the great outdoors she loved.
The world will be a bit dimmer, since she has left us - but her bright light will shine on, in those who's lives she touched, those she held dear, and the lessons she taught all of us. I will miss her graceful spirit - but Heaven has gained an Angel, and I know she will rest easy in the arms of her loving Father.
My thoughts and prayers are with Carl and her entire family. I feel I knew you all, because she spoke of you so often. You shared a rare gift with us, in Debby - and for that, I will always be thankful. I will miss her greatly.
