Obituary of Darryl Brian Garcia

1954 - 2013

It is with great sorrow that the family of Brian Garcia announces his passing on Sunday, August 18, 2013 in Cranbrook, British Columbia at 58 years of age.

Brian was the fifth of five born to Don and Joan Garcia on December 4, 1954 in New Westminster, British Columbia. Their large family shared a warm and loving bond and remained very close throughout the years.

The greatest joy in Brian's life was his 39 year dedication to Jehovah God, his creator and life giver. On July 19, 1974, Brian was baptized. He loved going in service and talking to people about the Bible and the prospect of being in paradise on earth. On June 24, 1989, Brian married the love of his life Carol Mae and they shared 24 years of sacred service together while raising their seven beautiful children.

Brian's career was in forestry. This gave him the opportunity to enjoy working amidst the wonders of Jehovah's creation while also being alongside the wildlife that He also placed on earth.

While living in Revelstoke, Brian kept busy with Theocratic service. He enjoyed working in the door to door work and attending conventions while also spending time exploring the mountains. He found it a privilege to serve as an elder while in Cloverdale and Revelstoke and always enjoyed the congregation get-togethers with his spiritual brothers and sisters.

Brian is survived by his loving wife Carol, his children Aaron, Tara (Jarrett), Jackson, Dallas, James, Sadie and Caleb, his grandchildren Danee and Devyn, Lauren, Beckett and Hartley, and his brothers and sisters Marilyn (Jack), Susy, Allyn (Don) and Ray (Patti). He will also be lovingly remembered by many friends and family.

A memorial service for Brian will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Cranbrook on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a memorial donation in honour of Brian may do so to: World Wide Work of Jehovah's Witnesses, PO Box 4100, Georgetown, Ontario, L7G 4Y4.
