Obituary of Dianna Rice

1958 - 2012

Dianna Rice of Cranbrook, B.C., passed away Sunday, June 10, 2012 in Joseph Creek Care Home after a heart-breaking battle with cancer at 54 years of age.

Born in Carmangay, AB, March 3, 1958, to Frank and Joanne Dorogdi, Dianna was raised in Ta-Ta Creek and graduated from Selkirk Seconday High School, in Kimberley, B.C., in 1976. Dianna was married to Dan Rice in Kimberley the same year. After residing in Canal Flats, Dianna & Dan relocated to Wasa, B.C., in 1984. Dianna furthered her studies at the College of the Rockies and was employed by the Business Development Bank in Cranbrook, B.C. Dianna loved to travel and enjoyed numerous vacations across the US, Canada & Mexico.

Dianna is survived by her husband, Dan, her daughter Jocelyn and grandson Jordan; her son Michael (Brandi) and grandson Brayden, her mother Joanne Dorogdi, grandfather Alex Yanosik, sister Marina (Tom) VanAmerongen & her children Katie & Gordie Donaldson; brothers Frank (Emily) Dorogdi & his daughter Olivia, David (Tammy) Dorogdi & his children Alex and McKayla. Dianna was predeceased by her father, Frank Dorogdi, her grandmother, Rose Yanosik, and her uncle, Bill Yanosik.

A memorial service for Dianna will be held at McPherson's Funeral Home (2200 - 2nd Street South) in Cranbrook on Saturday, June 16th, 2012 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in her honour can be made to the BC Cancer Agency, 150 - 686 W. Broadway, Vancouver, BC, V5Z 1G1.
