In Loving Memory Of: Travis Daley Varga August 10, 1978 - May 14, 2018 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our son, nephew, brother, uncle, friend... our beloved Travie. Travis was born in Blairmore, Alberta and was the first born to Steve and Dolores (Nicholas) Varga. Travis grew up in Fernie, BC. A place he held very dear to his heart. As an adult, Travis moved around living in various cities (Edmonton, Langley, Cranbrook) but always found comfort living close to his family in the Columbia Valley. For the last 10 years, he had been living in Fairmont Hot Springs, BC. In 2012, Travis started working at the Fairmont Hot Springs Lodge. Later that year, he was awarded Employee of the Year and he recently earned his 5 Years of Service with the Lodge. Travis' family would like to thank the many special friends and coworkers, who over the years, looked out for Travis and lent him a helping hand when he needed it. Travis had a passion for many things. He was a sports enthusiast and loved to cheer on the Seattle Seahawks, the Washington Capitals, and the BC lions. He loved his music and listening to his dads old records. Travis grew up in the 80s and he loved to reminisce about the good old days. Travis was a collector of many things and enjoyed collecting games, records, movies, dvds, and sports paraphernalia. Travis will be remembered for his friendly personality and his infectious laugh. Travis is survived by his father Steve Varga (Ann), mother Dolores Nicholas (Joe, Jesse, Jason, Leah), brother Brad Varga (Dakoda, Dylan, Ryder, Lillyanna), sister Cayle Kashuba (Rylan, Harry, Maggie), grandmother Phylis (Ray) and grandfather Louis. A celebration of Travis' life will be held on Friday, May 25th at 2:00 pm at the Lion's Hall at the Columbia Valley Chamber of Commerce. The celebration of life will continue on at the Farside Pub in Fairmont Hot Springs. Those wishing to make a memorial donation in honour of Travis, may do so to the "Travis Varga Memorial Account" at the Kootenay Savings Credit Union (Radium branch). The family will later donate the money to a mental health/suicide prevention organization. Arrangements entrusted to McPherson Funeral Service. Condolences for the family can be offered at: www.mcphersonfh.com
