I remember many things about my uncle: his unique laugh; his constant joking and sharp commentary; his advice - always insightful and memorable - and his sage assessment of issues, people problems, and political quandaries; his stories of youth and adventure; his bark at me and his boys if we were annoying him as youngsters; his enthusiasm for family, his parishioners, and rellies far and wide; him setting up his jokes by starting off a conversation in seriousness, then spearing his punchline as any experienced comedian; his 'dirty little Western novel' secret; his passionate opposition to all things Montreal Canadien.........and of course the pride he had in Mike, Ken and Lewis and their endeavours, and his enduring love for my beautiful aunt Sue. He was a good dad, a cool uncle, and I know a loving husband. Aunt Sue and my dear cousins, I know you will miss him.......as will all whose lives he touched. We know he is resting now, with no pain, full memory, and everlasting love for his Father and his family.
See you soon boys..........rod friesen

One of the most kind, quiet and loving people I've been blessed to now. Werner carried me through one of the toughest times and I am forever grateful.
I also had the honour to work with him through the EKRH Spiritual Care Committee. A true gentleman whose presence will truly be missed.
Good speed Werner and thank you for touching my life.

El & I have great memories of Werner during his time as pastor at Eigenheim Church. In fact, we moved to Rosthern during his time there and it was his visit to our house on the farm that encouraged us to attend Eigenheim and we still attend there. He was a good man and his obituary described him beautifully and so accurately--"He regularly went out of his way to make others' lives better". What a wonderful legacy he left for us all. Our deepest condolences to your whole family as you grieve and celebrate Werner's life.

Our sincere condolences to the Froese family. The reflection of Werner's passionate belief in pastoral care is significant as we remember Werner's care for our parents, Henry & Annie Braun at Eden Mennonite. Werner exemplified this aspect of being a pastor and as their children, we were grateful that our parents experienced his committed care. His was a life well lived. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

While we rejoice that Werner is singing in heaven, our hearts are sad. Werner was such a blessing at Knox. His deep faith and his care for all impacted so many lives. Werner was an amazing listener, and had the ability to ask those gentle straight forward questions that helped others reflect and grow in Christ. Our love and prayers go out to Susan and family.

Dear Sister Susie, In the past few days I and my family have recalled our rememberances of Werner with smiles and sadness. Smiles as we recalled his humour and sadness as we thought of your loss. I know that many will look back as your faith became manifest and both of you shared the challenges in your lives and how the positive legacy will live on through you. Love from all of us. God will provide the wisdom and the strength. My regards to your family. Send me a current telephone number. I have a new one . <604 851 4144>

To the Froese Family - Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to all of you. Jim and I were very lucky to have the opportunity of knowing Mr. Froese fairly well. Because Mike and Barb spent 16 years in La Ronge we benefited in seeing him and Mrs. Froese whenever they came for a visit. He was a very kind and caring man! May God's love surround you during your time of grief and as you move forward.

Sue - my deepest sympathy to you. My memories of spending those days at that church in New Orleans right after Hurricane Katrina are bright ones. Werner will be deeply missed by so many I'm sure. MDS was so fortunate to have been one of Werner's passions. May God and God's people surround you with love and support all the days ahead that will be lonely without him in your life.
