As we prepare to say our farewell to Maxine today I am reflecting on an amazing life well lived. Her and Bud were pillars in our community. They treated everyone as a friend and worked hard to make a difference. They passed the importance of community on to all of their clan and I am grateful to have worked with many of you on various community events. She left a legacy in our community and it will live on in the hearts of so many people. Thinking of you all today

While sitting with Bud & Maxine at a coming out ball of the Sam Steele Sweethearts...my husband complimented them both how they eknowledged everyone by name that stopped by our table.
Bud replied .."All you need Henderson is a napkin & a pencil & a wife that knows everyone"
Thinking of you Liz & all your families
Comforting to know you're mom & dad are together again

With both my late father (Brian Hamilton) and ex-husband (Mike Askew) being realtors, I had many occasions to enjoy Maxine's company through the years, since I was a child in the 60s. She was always so much fun. But the memory I will always carry with me is that, whenever we had a conversation, she made me feel she was truly interested in me. That is a trait which she shared with anyone who ever came in contact with her, and why she was such a bright light in the history of Cranbrook. May her family be bolstered by so many happy memories and the knowledge that she and Bud are together again.

Mrs. Caldwell was a remarkable woman. A pillar in her community, an inspiration for all women and mostly, her favorite job, an incredibly happy and loving Mom and Gramma! Her smile was contagious, even looking at her pictures now, one can't help but smile. She was a classy woman. We are so sorry for all of you. What a great loss to your family. We do know, with certainty, each of you have inherited the qualities of both your Mom and Dad, you all carry their legacy to your community and families, not just by name but by the very people you have all been raised to be. With great admiration, love and respect, our heartfelt condolences to all of you.

Wes and Judy; Deanie and all of the Holmes family and the Caldwell family:
My condolences to all of the family. Maxwell and Bud were well know to our family (Marge and Bob Stevely) and in my working years while living in Cranbrook, I had reason to attend Caldwell Agencies on many occasions. I knew them both well.
Maxine and Bud were certainly pillars of the Cranbrook community, known by everyone. Maxine was always so bubbly and always on the go. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Once again I express my sincere sympathy, to you all at this very sad time.
