Carmen Patricia Rose Jubinville
1950 - 2019
After thirty-four years of living with Multiple Sclerosis, Carmen Patricia Rose Jubinville, aged sixty-nine of Cranbrook, British Columbia, passed away on January 20th, 2019 at 1:05 pm in the East Kootenay Regional Hospital.
Carmen was born on January 5th, 1950 in Vancouver, BC to her parents Adam and Ruth (nee Nelson) Purper, and joined her sisters Beth, Joan and brother Bill and then eight years later by her baby brother John.
Carmen grew up in Vancouver with her family and graduated from Kitsilano Secondary School in 1969. She never could have imagined while on a blind date with a gentleman named Allan Jubinville that on September 17, 1977, they would be married. In 1978 they welcomed their son Jeffrey Allan and in 1980 their daughter Barbara Ann.
In 1984 Carmen began to struggle of symptoms of MS, and in 1986 was diagnosed. Over the next four decades of her life, Carmen began working in each of the communities her family lived to raise awareness of mobility issues challenging all disabled people.
Carmen is predeceased by her father Adam Purper (1992), mother Ruth (Nelson) Purper (1989) and her loving husband Allan Jubinville (2007).
Carmen is survived by her children Jeff (Kristin) Jubinville and Barb Jubinville, her grandchildren Kaitlyn, Alainna, Amelie and Ella, her siblings Beth (Rick) Goehring, Joan Mitchell, Bill (Tena) Purper, and John Purper, and Uncle Ray and Auntie Joan Hamilton.
The family would like to express our appreciation for all those involved, who helped and supported Carmen in her home at Joseph Creek Care Village, for the past twelve years.
We also appreciate all the care and attention given by all the Doctors and incredible Nurses while Carmen was cared for at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital.
Please join us for coffee and tea as we celebrate Carmen Jubinville's life with her friends and family, Sunday January 27th, 2019 between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm at the Prestige Hotel in Cranbrook, BC.
In lieu of flowers, we ask you to donate in Carmen's memory to the East Kootenay MS Support Group.
