Jacque,
We have only met once at the Fisher Peak Winter Ale Concert. We shared a table and had a lovely visit. We so much enjoyed your and Rod's welcoming hospitality that we would like to share our condolences with you. We hope that your large family and all the wonderful memories you have made over your years together are providing you with the comfort you need at this time.
Once you feel like going to the concerts again, we will be there to save a seat for you and buy you a beer.
All our best to you and your family,
Scott and Judy Bodaly

I have the fondest memories of Rod from an early age and as I reflect upon them I realize they were formative influences in my life.
I well remember him tossing me up on one of Charlie Cunningham's horses, handing me the reins and telling me to, "go to it." I was 6 he was 17. He became an instant hero in my eyes.
We lived across the street from Stan and Hazel in North Delta. One day I saw a sports car, MG, I think. Rod got out, swept the gorgeous Jacque up in his arms and carried her up the front stairs. He had just won the bulldogging at the Williams lake stampede and was in a celebratory mood. I learned about the grand romantic gesture that day.
Other flitting memories include watching Rod straighten out a snaky appaloosa stud horse at the PNE. I spent some time in North Surrey hazing steers with brother John so Rod could hone his roping skills. Rod allowed me to tag along while he schooled a young horse. I learned much about working horses from Rod.
Just last summer as I passed through Cranbrook I phoned Rod. He was pleased to hear that he was partially to blame for my love of horses, packing, high passes and the Chilcotin mountains. I'm glad I told him.
I send my condolences to the Savage family from the Davidson family.

This is very sad news. I have lost contact with Rod since his retirement but I assure you he was one of my favorite BC Tel guys and always got to the bottom of any issue I had with business lines-ALWAYS! I knew him as a happy fellow and whenever we met on the street, there was conversation. Great fellow who will be missed. I extend my sincere condolences to his dear family & friends.
