Robert James (Bob) MacSporran Passes Away Peacefully
Bob MacSporran passed away peacefully at Joseph Creek Care Village, Cranbrook, B.C. surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, April 28th, 2019 at the age of 81 years.
Bob will be missed by his loving wife, Vanda; two sons, Gary (Diane) of Port Moody, Jamie (Anick) of Langley; two daughters Gina (Keith) of Cranbrook, Nancy (Alastair) of Christina Lake; 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Bob is pre-deceased by his father and mother, Jack and Ranka MacSporran and his brother Richard (Dick) MacSporran. Bob is loved and will be missed by his siblings, Judy (Dave) Erickson and family, Kathi (Brian) Jones and John (Kathy) MacSporran.
Bob's career was centered around the Sullivan Mine (Cominco), as was his father's Jack and many other members of his family. The Sullivan Mine and his Mine rescue "partners" fostered the interconnection of mining families that was important to Bob as it created a network of very supportive friends and great memories.
Bob's wishes are that a "Celebration of Life" be held at the Elk's Hall in Kimberley, on Monday May 13th, 2019 from 2PM to 6PM. All are invited to attend and celebrate the life of Bob in a social environment (that Bob loved to host) and share your stories with his friends and family.
In lieu of flowers, the MacSporran family requests donations to the Canadian Arthritis Society of British Columbia (arthritis.ca).
