I have known Jode all my life. We fished together in Port Alberni. Hung out in Langley when we were kids. Hunted and fished in Hazelton. Even spent time on the ranch in Houston standing in the calving pen together pulling a calf that had breached. Up to it in our armpits trying to save the calf and we did. Jode never forgot this and in later years talk about this. He was a hell of an outdoorsman and was good at whatever he did fish..hunt..playing guitar..sharpening saws..carpentry whatever he put his mind to he was successful. He was a crafty woodcarver and a genius in woodwork. My wife Dani and I enjoyed his company whenever we could get together opened up our home for him when Carnaby shut down and he was working out of Prince George for a bit.. We loved him dearly. You see we are 1st cousins but it was more like brotherhood. He often told me that I was his big brother and I felt the same about him. SO LONG BROTHER until we meat up yonder.

Joey Millan was my friend. I loved him dearly. I can't say it was always like that though. The first time we met he was working with my husband, Randy, in the mill in Southtown (Hazelton). They were going fishing and I picked Randy And Joe up to take them. They never fished in conventional places but always went somewhere off the beaten track. My car was a little Datsun station wagon and they wanted me to take them down some goat trail by the river so off we went. Soon enough Joey was giving me driving instuctions from the back seat and since I didn't even know the guy I was fairly hot and told him in no uncertain terms that if he didn't shut up he was going to be walking! Didn't like him much for a while after that but the crazy bugger grows on ya and my husband and him were like brothers. Missing you my friend. Enjoy the salmon fishing where ever you are!
