Obituary of Buddy Allan Lees

Buddy Allan Lees April 3, 1939 ~ June 29, 2019 "Bud" passed away peacefully with his family at his side after a long and determined battle with lung cancer, at the age of 80 at the Cranbrook Regional Hospital. "Bud" was the only son of Gertrude (Gay) and William Lees. Bud graduated from Mount Baker Secondary in 1958. He began working in 1946 with multiple small jobs in the Cranbrook area. He started his career with BC Tel in 1963 as a draftsman in Kamloops. He continued with BC tel in various positions until retiring in 1994 after 31 years of service. Bud enjoyed hockey, golf, hiking, curling, downhill skiing, playing cards, basketball, bowling and most importantly helping others. Bud remained active in his retirement with travel, RVing, Rotary and the Telus ambassador group. Bud will be missed greatly by all his family and friends. He will be remembered as a hardworking, honest, fun-loving and considerate man who always put his friends and family first. He is predeceased by his first wife Margaret Lees (Barrett) and his step-son Neale Stearn, He is survived by his second wife Jean Lees, sisters Irene Ford, Carol (Ervin) Loran, daughter Joanne Lees (David Roberts), grandchildren Zachary Roberts (Sarah) and Taryn Roberts, son Alan Lees (Karen) and granddaughter Erin Lees, step-son Shane Stearn (Lisa), grandchildren Keely, Natasha, Brennen, Ethan and Orreen as well as numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. A celebration of life will be held Friday July 5th, 2019 at Terra Lee Terrace on Kokanee drive in the south hall from 2:00 - 4:00 pm for anyone wishing to attend. In lieu of flowers please donate in Buds name to either the Cranbrook Health Care Auxiliary or a charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to McPherson Funeral Service.
