Obituary of Mary Toth

August 20, 1948 - July 23, 2012

It is with great sorrow that the family of Mary Toth announces her passing on Monday, July 23, 2012 in Cranbrook, British Columbia at 63 years of age after a courageous battle with cancer.

Mary was born on August 20, 1948 in Acsteszer, Hungary and came to Canada in 1969. She lived on Texada Island before moving to Kimberley in 1977. Mary's passion was her children and grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Her loves were her garden, the outdoors in general, her many friends from her time working at the Kimberley Hospital, and all her neighbours - old and new.

Mary is survived by her loving husband Jim Hughes, daughter Treena Gustar, son Jim (Cori Lynn) Toth, grandchildren Sydney and Spencer Gustar, Kole, Emma and Taylor Toth, step-daughters Deborah Harris and Nikki Hughes, and extended family in Hungary.

A special thank you to a very dear friend, Judith Gaschnitz, for your loving support and also all Mary's amazing friends who spent countless hours visiting her in the hospital.

A celebration of Mary's life will be held at the Elk's Hall in Kimberley on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at 3:00 pm. Those wishing to make a memorial donation in Mary's honour may do so to the: Canadian Cancer Society, 19 - 9th Avenue South, Cranbrook, British Columbia, V1C 2L9.
