Our sincere condolences to you, Donna and your family. I enjoyed over ten years working with Fred … he was my prairie "kindred spirit" and we had many good discussions about growing up there! Fred had a kind and caring heart and will be missed by all who knew him.

We knew Fred through Kinsmen (K-40 Club), and Wes worked with him in Real Estate, and I, as a notary public, did a lot of business through Fred. He was a kind and thoughtful man and we always enjoyed visiting with him. He will be missed by many, our condolences to you Donna, Rob and family. Wes and Judy Holmes, Fort Steele.

We met Fred through Kinsmen when we first moved to Cranbrook. It was very evident then how much he loved his community and serving others. A few years later we would become neighbors with Fred and Donna. We will miss our times running into Fred in the mall. His love for Donna and his family was clearly a tribute to them all .... our prayers and hugs to you Donna, Rob and family........ From Shelley, Ray, Ashley & Sarah Joubert

When we think of Fred, it's hard not to smile! He was always friendly and interested in what was happening and he had a story to add! When we purchased our home with Fred's help I do believe he was as interested in having a good conversation as making a sale! What a great guy. I can say I don't think I ever heard him say anything mean about others. He will be missed. Our condolences to you Donna. And Fred, we're thinking you'll have a whole new audience for your stories!

My sincere condolences go out to Donna, Rob and family. I have such incredibly fond memories of Fred, having known him since 1984 when I joined Kinsmen. I will always remember how he took great pride in serving the community at every opportunity but mostly I always thought of him as a mentor. He always encouraged me to take advantage of the self improvement opportunities through Kinsmen and I will always be grateful for that. Fred was a man who stood fast to his principals but enjoyed fellowship and good times with his friends and family. Thank you Fred for the difference you made in my life.

Fred was a kind and generous man, and a great friend. He always had a big smile, a joke to share, a warm hug and kindness to offer. My world is a better place for having known him. He taught me many things, but most importantly he taught me the tenacity of the human spirit, and how important a good and positive outlook is. He will be greatly missed. My love and condolences to you Donna, Rob and families. xo

I had the pleasure of working with Fred on the Board of Variance committee since I started with the City in 2010. Although I didn't know Fred well he always greeted me with a warm smile and questions about how things were going, like we had known each other for a life time. Fred was an amazing man and I will truly miss his presence in our community and at our meetings. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
