Irene was such a sweet lady, we all are going to miss her great smile, her incredible baking and the love you felt from her, no matter who you were, when you entered her home. I have many fond memories of spending a lot of time at the Soum's residence. Playing card games until late at night and laughing the whole time. It was very rare to be in their home without someone knocking on the door looking for a quick game of cards. Everyone was always welcome and there was aways vanilla or licorice tea on the go and a yummy sweet treat to go with it (freshly baked of course). I have never had a better cup of tea or a better piece of spice cake in my life. I was fortunate enough to get one of her cake recipes for a lemon loaf. I think of her every time I make it. Irene was a very special soul and will never be forgotten. RIP Irene!
