Sam passed away at the F.W.Green Memorial Home, January 15, 2007. He was born in Morden Manitoba December 4, 1919, the eldest of seven, to Reinhold and Lydia (Staple). During his lifetime he operated a trucking business a motel and a ranch. He also was a good carpenter and built several houses. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and was an active curler for many years. Sam is survived by his wife Charlotte of 62 years, sons Barton, Glenn and Kelvin; grandchildren Elaine, Debra (Lyall) Lisa, Jessica, Mallory and Clayton; great-grandchildren Breanna and Daryl, also two brothers, 3 sisters and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Albert (1973) and son Douglas (1974).Memorial Service to be held at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Cranbrook, British Columbia on Friday January 19th at 1:30 pm.Donations may be made to the SPCA: PO Box 2, Cranbrook, British Columbia V1C 4H6 or to a charity of choice.
