Obituary of Jacob Kyle Smaldon

Please share a memory of Jacob to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Jacob Kyle Smaldon tragically passed away on February 22, 2007, in Grand Prairie, Alberta, in a motor vehicle accident. Jacob will be dearly missed by his mother, Bonnie Jewett (Lawrence) and his father, Rod Smaldon (Kayla). He was a loving brother to Jordan Smaldon (Oona), Ashley and David Jewett, Kristin and Cameron Smaldon.

Jacob is survived by many loving uncles, aunts, cousins and grandparents. Jacob graduated from Mount Baker Senior Secondary High School in 1994 and East Kootenay Community College in 1997. For the past five years he has been working in Grand Prairie with Nabors Canada Inc. Jacob loved the outdoors, his truck and his toys, but most of all he loved his family and friends. He had great aspirations to become the next "Iron Chef", and those who were lucky enough to partake of his cuisine extraordinaire were fortunate indeed.

Jacob touched many people's lives and many will remember his positive spirit. We are hopeful that all who loved him or knew him will join us in a celebration of his life.

Prayers will be held at Christ The Servant Parish, Roman Catholic Church, Cranbrook, BC on Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at 7:30. A Celebration of Life mass will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at 11:00, also at Christ The Servant Church. The Catholic Women's League will sponsor a luncheon following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to adopt a child through "World Vision" in Jacob"s name... one life lost, another saved!
