Obituary of Velma Ruth Adams

With great sadness the family of Velma Adams announces her passing at the F.W. Green Home in Cranbrook, British Columbia at the age of 86.

Born and raised in Prince Albert Saskatchewan, Velma met and married Les Adams in 1938. They were married for 65 years. Together they had a family and moved to Cranbrook in 1952. Velma worked at the Green Home as a caregiver from 1956 to 1963, also caring for the elderly through the Homemakers Association. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and crafts as well as the outdoors; gardening, camping and fishing with family.

Velma is survived by daughters Arlene (Bill) Perry, Medicine Hat AB, daughter-in-law Jacintha Adams, Cranbrook, grandsons Curtis Adams, Golden, BC, Jamie Adams, Cranbrook, granddaughter Lisa Adams, Cranbrook, great grandson Terry Adams, Golden, sister Doreen Quaife, Cranbrook and brother Barry Corrigal, Creston.

She was predeceased by parents Fred and Bertha Corrigal, husband Les, 2002 sons Larry, 2000 and Dave, 2006, grandson Melvin Adams, 2006 and brother Derl Corrigal, 1995.Velma will be forever missed by her family, nieces and nephews, many dear friends and all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday March 15, 2007 at McPherson's Funeral Chapel, Cranbrook, British Columbia.
