I have many wonderful memories of travelling to Cranbrook every summer with Mom and Dad to stay with Auntie Lyle and Uncle Frank. It seemed that the fun never ended around there! I was always getting into some kind of trouble with Randy, Duane, and Shannon, but Auntie Lyle always managed to calm my Mom down. Then later on when I had a family of my own we would stop in Creston to visit Auntie Lyle - I'm thrilled that my own girls were able to get to know her and her mischievous, fun-loving ways. She always had an interesting story to tell. And the FOOD!! My husband always said that we hadn't been done dishes at Auntie Lyle's for 5 minutes and she was already asking if we were hungry and was planning the next meal. Real cream, real butter (with a big dollop in the middle of the tomato soup), and tons of homemade baking...Her memory will live on in our hearts. Rest in peace Auntie Lyle.

I have many memories of you grandma mac- swinging on the branches of your willow trees, rummaging through the books in your attic, getting chased by your bull for being dumb enough to climb through the fence wearing a red jacket and bouncing my sister off of your teeter totter for hours on end. Whether frustrating you by insisting that you fill my baths all the way to the overflow drain, swinging in your rocking chair so hard that it fell backward or digging through your tobacco tins to find and chew on grandpa's old pipes, I was generally a pain in your ass. Still, we never saw nor heard a note of anger. Your door was always open. And you never refused my summer visits, always keeping a solid supply of peppermints and raspberry candies on hand. Your house was always filled with the smells of baking bread, rising dough, your lunch time tomato soup and salmon buns and pickles... well, pickling. As we grew older and wishes were trumped by necessity, we never saw each other as much. Eventually age frustrated your ability to keep up with the baking or wave us goodbye from your front porch. But you were always in our thoughts and on our minds. And when we did get in to see you, despite your pain, you always had a warm hug and some sound advice for raising my daughters. And never failed to encourage them to fill their pockets with the candies on your stove. You lived life long and well, with humility and patience. Though a very long illness, you suffered silently and never failed to remind that family is all that matters, the rest is just noise. Thank you for that. We love you. Barry, Peggy, Brittney and Dijana.

Barry, Brittney, Dijana and I will all miss you very much. My favorite memory was the day we all sat by the creek in the backyard together, and you asked Brittney to let you listen to her music. She gave you the headphones, and you two listened together. I remember laughing when you told us all that you needed to get a shirt like Brittneys (a glittery shirt with a skull on it!), just what every cool 93 year old Gramma needs! We love you, rest now Grammy Mac.
