Dobie, Eileen (nee Mann) born September 6, 1921, died June 9, 2007 from a stroke.
Eileen was born in Anyox, B.C. to parents Mildred and Henderson Mann and moved with them to Duncan, Grand Forks and then, in the mid-1940's, to Trail B.C. She married Tome Dobie, a Cominco Engineer in 1950 and had their only child, Glenn, in 1952. Eileen lived in Trail until 2000 when she relocated Penticton BC. She took up sports at a later age including skiing at Red Mountain, bowling with the Pizza Ladies, playing badminton, golf and swimming in the Columbia River. She cherished all the fun times with family and friends and had many fond memories of camping at Christina Lake and boating on the Arrow Lakes.
She was predeceased by her husband Tom (1991), sister Doris Wilby (2006) and her brother Bob Mann (2003). She is survived by her son Glenn (Heather) and grandchildren Anne and Neil from Cranbrook.
A celebration of her life will be held on Friday June 15, 2007, at the Knox United Church in Trail, at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 1212 West Broadway, Vancouver, British Columbia V6H 3V2.
