Bill passed away in the East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook, B.C. on Friday August 10, 2007.
Bill was born in a small town outside of Lviv, now in the Ukraine, and emigrated to Canada with his family in 1939. He joined the Canadian Army in 1942 and served overseas with the Canadian Scottish 3rd Div. Upon his return he worked in the oil fields and in road and pipeline construction. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Marianne, sons Jack and Bill (Melanie), daughters Valerie (Keith) and Wendy, grandson Ben and granddaughter Tammy and family, sisters Doreen and Alice, brothers Emil (Anne) and Stanley and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Alexander and Oksenia, a son Monty, and brothers Walter, Mike, Ronnie and Sam.
There will be a private family prayer service to be followed by a Memorial Service at a later date, to be announced.
