NORMA MARGARET HALEY(nee Spence) Norma Margaret Haley passed away peacefully at her home on August 18, 2007 at the age of 86. Born in Enderby, B.C. on December 8, 1920, Norma will be sadly missed by her sons Bob (Dorothy), Tom (Sandra), Rick (Conny), and daughter Cheryl (Floyd) as well as 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 42 years, Owen Haley (1984), sisters Connie Neily, and Dot Atchison, and parents Adele and Charles Spence. Norma moved to Cranbrook as a young girl, graduated from High School in 1938, attended Business College, and then pursued employ-ment at City Hall. She met the love of her life, Owen, and married on June 23, 1942. Upon his arrival home from the war, they together built their family of 4.After Owen and Norma's retirement in 1976, they spent 7 wonderful years traveling, camping, and spending time enjoying their gardens and grandchildren until Owen's death in 1984. Norma loved sports including badminton, golfing, curling and was an avid horsewoman all her life. She cherished her Wednesday dinner outings with friends, and was an accomplished painter leaving numerous oil paintings to be cherished by her family. Norma lived for her family and was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grand-mother, mentor and friend. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. A celebration of Norma's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday. August 23 at McPherson's Funeral Home, Cranbrook.
