Please share a memory of David to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Passed away on September 12, 2007, with his family by his side, at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook, British Columbia. Allan was a devoted husband for 30 years, father for 29 and grandfather for 7. He was an avid Nascar fan and a real people person. There was always a new face. He loved his life and had no regrets. After completing high school, Allan joined the Canadian Armed Forces. He trained in auto mechanics and learned about heavy equipment. In the early 70's he moved from his home in Ontario to British Columbia in search of a career. He soon found his wife Carmen, who he married in '77. A year later in '78 Jeff was born and Barb in 1980. Allan searched for many years to find the right career for his family. After a couple moves he found the career he wanted. The trucking industry is where he belonged. His leadership and honest business took him all the way to Hinton, Alberta as the area manager. He looked forward to weekends with the family and races on Sunday. His door was always open at the home or at the office. Allan was taken away from us too soon, but was content with his life. He always said he had accomplished all he set out to do. He had no regrets. Allan's strength, wisdom and love will live on. He will be sorely missed. He is survived by his wife Carmen, 2 children Jeff (Kristine) and Barb (Mark), granddaughter Kaitlyn and family pet dogs - Spike and his sweetheart Foxxy. Allan is also survived by his Mom, Katherine, sister Phyllis (Terry), brother Don (Elaine), sister Karen, brother Jerry (June) and many extended family members. Allan was predeceased by his father Felix in August 2006 and young niece Tera Lee in November 2006. There will be a memorial service held at 2:00 pm on Sunday September 30, 2007 at the Eagles Hall, 711 Kootenay Street, Cranbrook. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Cancer Research Centre, 675 West 10th Avenue, Vancouver, BC, V5Z 1L3 or to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada 1501-4330 Kingsway, Burnaby, British Columbia V5H 4G7
