Obituary of Frank George Neads

With great sadness the family announces the passing of Frank "Papa" Neads on November 1, 2007 after a struggle with cancer, in Cranbrook at the age of 76.
Born May 4, 1931 in Winnipeg, MB, Frank spent his formative years in Sardis (Chilliwack) and excelled in many high school sports. Frank moved to Cranbrook in the early 50's to start several of his own businesses, including "The Merc", of which he was most proud. He was a community leader, involved with United Way, Cranbrook Hospital Board, Downtown Merchants Association, Jaycees, Gyros and he served a two-year term on the B.C. Health Profession Council.
He was an avid sportsman who embraced several activities, golfing, skiing, tennis and curling, among others. He loved his many grandchildren and was devoted to his wife, Lenore.
Frank is survived by his son Geoffrey (Alana) Neads and their children Maria, Alan and Ariana all of Keizer, Oregon, daughter Linda (David) Lunn and their children Andrew, Matthew, Daniel and Michelle all of Okotoks, AB and daughter Wendy Neads and her son Scott Penner, both of Calgary, AB. Frank also leaves a brother Charles Neads of Peterburough , ON.
Frank was predeceased by his loving wife of 54 years, Lenore Neads and his parents Charles and Elizabeth (Neads) Rye of Chilliwack, B.C.
The family would like to thank Margaret Dorris for her care and kindness to our father these past several months.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday November 6, 2007 at McPherson's Funeral Chapel, Cranbrook, B.C.
Cremation will precede the service.
