Obituary of Josephine Ellen Van Ochten

With deep regret the family announces that Josephine Van Ochten passed away on December 11, 2007 at home, with her family close by.
Born November 18, 1940 in Edmonton, Jo was a dedicated volunteer for many years, for many organizations, most recently with the Cranbrook Food Bank Society. Jo loved to help those less fortunate. Her hobbies included reading and collecting elephant figurines, as they were her favourite animal. She leaves to mourn her loving husband of 50 years, Gordon, her children Les, Jean and Nancy and her daughter-in-law Marion.
Jo was predeceased by her beloved son Michael and her mother Ella Slater.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday December 19, 2007 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 300 6th Ave. S. Cranbrook.
All who knew her and loved her are welcome.
In lieu of flowers donations in Jo's memory may be offered to the Canadian Red Cross Society, 42-6th Ave S. Cranbrook, BC V1C 2H3 Equipment Loan Department or to the Cranbrook Food Bank Society, 104-8th Ave. S. Cranbrook, BC V1C 2K5 and are sincerely appreciated.
