Obituary of Dorothy Simons

Dorothy passed away quietly on October 31, 2006 in Cranbrook, BC.
Dorothy was born February 8, 1918 in London England. There she grew up and was educated. She met and married George Simons while he was serving in the Canadian Armed Forces during World War II. Dorothy immigrated to Canada in 1944 where she spent time in Alberta and then settled into her new life in Vancouver British Columbia.
Together Dorothy and George raised and celebrated seven children, fourteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. In addition to raising her family Dorothy spent many years working for both Canada Post and the Pacific national Exhibition. After the death of her husband George, she retired to Kimberley, B.C. where she was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Auxiliary and became an active volunteer for the Kimberley Hospital Auxiliary.
Dorothy will be lovingly remembered by her surviving children; Gillian, Valarie (Bernie) Trevor (Maggie), Brian (Maryann) and Lori as well as grandchildren; Kevin, Tracy, Raymond, Cherylee, Vicki, Leah, Jason, Christopher, Collin, Michael, Curtis, Jesse, Adam and Veronica.
Her husband George and two children, Jean and Pamela, predeceased Dorothy.
A Memorial service will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday November 3, 2006 at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Kimberley British Columbia with Reverend Doug Maxwell officiating.
