Olaf (Ole) R. Mandseth passed away June 7, 2006 at Cranbrook Regional Hospital at the age of 73 years, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born April 27, 1933 in Rimbey, Alberta.Ole will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years, Evelyn, son Warren (Vicki) of Maple Ridge, BC, two daughters, Laurie Mandseth of Edmonton and Sharon Cameron of Cranbrook, and three grandchildren Christopher, Matthew and Allison. Ole is also survived by one brother, Sigurd (Anna) of Camrose, AB and numerous nieces and nephews.Ole was predeceased by his parents Samuel and Signe Mandseth, son Dwayne, grandson Travis, and four brothers, Edward, Rolf, Gunnar and Carl.A retired plumber, Ole was an avid fisherman, master gardener, and an inspired woodworker. We are all so very grateful for the lasting treasures he left behind. His passion for life never faltered, he laughed and loved until the end."When we saw you sleeping,So peaceful and free from pain,We could not wish you back,To suffer that again"A celebration of life will be held at McPherson's Funeral Chapel, 2200 2nd St. S, Cranbrook, BC on Monday, June 12 at 2 PM with Reverend Dr. Yme Woensdregt officiating.Reception to follow at the Anglican Church Hall, 46 13th Ave. S, Cranbrook, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ole may be sent to the Canadian Cancer Society. 19-9th Ave s. Cranbrook, BC V1C 2L9
