Obituary of Jessie Scott

A longtime resident of the Pines passed away peacefully a month after her 95th birthday.

She was a proud Scot, born in Falkirk Scotland. Jessie immigrated to Canada in 1930 but retained her Scottish accent until the end.Jessie was a proud supporter of the Kimberley Pipe Band founded by her husband Hamish in 1927. She was also a musician in her own right having played the base drum for the Calgary Blue Bonnets Pipe Band.Jessie was a resident of Kimberley for over sixty years.

She was predeceased by her husband Hamish (1984) and her son Bruce (2006) Jessie will be deeply missed by her daughter Janet Ruzicka (Powell River, B.C.); grandchildren Lesley Ruzicka (Paul); Wendy Ruzicka (Ian), Larry Collinson (Kirsten), Allen Collinson (Collette), Jamie Collinson (Cindy) and Colin Collinson (Jamie); eight great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends. She will be especially missed by her guardian angel niece Mavis McNiven.

Jessie's family is deeply grateful to the wonderful staff at the Pines for the excellent care they have provided to her for the past eighteen years.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Pines Memorial Society.

A celebration of Jessie's life will be held at the Kimberley McPherson Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 28th, 2006 at 2:00pm.
