Ruth was a soul who strove to find beauty in everything in life and reflected this passion in her many paintings. She loved nature, animals and children and was kind and giving to all. Ruth was widely read on many topics and wrote poetry, which was often published in local newspapers. When she was fourteen her family moved from Kimberley to Vancouver where Ruth completed school and worked for a short time in a cannery. She met and married Ernest in 1956 then moved to Manitoba where she became a mother and farmed with Ernest for 35 years until he passed away. She then moved to Vancouver for a short time and then came home to Cranbrook where she met and married Bodan. Ruth was very involved in her community through her church and her art until her health began to fail, over the past five years. Ruth was dearly loved by all who knew her and deeply appreciated as a kind and generous humanitarian. She is greatly missed and will never be forgotten.
